Figure Drawing with Model Musa

Well I’m a little behind on this update but I had a great time drawing Musa, two weeks ago, at a DoableGuys virtual session. They’re always an excellent model and a joy to draw. Musa is also the founder and curator of Bare Life Art, a queer, POC, and model led life drawing collective.

From this session, I really love the fourth 5 min drawing . I’ve been reading a to about digital painting techniques and speed painting. For that 5 min pose I tried working with a larger “paint” brush to draw Muse’s silhouette first and then used a “pencil” brush to add line work and darker shading. I like the result and tried this again on the first 10 min pose but I didn’t;t like how that drawing turned out. So I ditched that approach for the last 4 poses. Now, looking back on the 5 min, I want to push myself to try again and make some crappy drawings at my next figure drawing sessions, until I figure out this process.
